On March 15th 2017, Emily King presented an introduction to the principles of safe body mechanics and examination of how these can apply to common care scenarios. Examples and recommendations were drawn from recent research on caregiver safety and ways to promote independent mobility.
Following the launch of the Provincial Fall Prevention Framework and Toolkit in 2011, each LHIN has been working on developing a Fall Prevention Strategy. Champlain, NE and SE LHINs share common borders and have come together to share common approaches and initiatives, with a view to collaborating to reduce costly duplication. By taking a provincial approach the hope is to improve effectiveness and efficiency across Ontario.
