Canadian Falls Prevention Audit: April 2015

During the month of April, all acute, long-term care and home care organizations are challenged to audit their established processes for falls prevention and management.

Auditing the process will help to identify areas of excellence and areas for improvements. Measurement is critical in the journey to improve the delivery of safe and effective care for patients, residents and clients.

The purpose of the Canadian Falls Prevention Audit Month is to encourage acute care, long term care and home care organizations to:

  • Qualify how they are performing the falls prevention and falls management processes,
  • Use the Canadian Falls Prevention data collection/audit tool to inform process improvements,
  • Use the Patient Safety Metrics System to view and analyze collated results.

The National Audit will take place during the month of April. It is free to participate.
There are two events in February that support this event:

  1. February 4: National Call to learn more about the Canadian Falls Prevention Audit Tool
  2. February 26: National Call to learn more about the Canadian Falls Prevention Audit
